Link a domain you already own to NexusNodes
Already registered example.co.za with another provider? Keep it. Link it to NexusNodes hosting and we'll handle the routing and TLS — you stay the registered owner with your existing registrar.

1
Pick a NexusNodes plan
Choose Launch, Grow, or Agency — whichever fits the workload. Domain registration and transfer are available as add-ons during checkout, but you don't need them if you already own the domain.
-
2
Choose “I will use my existing domain” at checkout
The cart's domain step gives you three choices: register a new domain, transfer one in, or use a domain you already own. Pick option three — there's no domain charge added to the order.

Add it to your project in the customer console
Once your service activates, sign in to the NexusNodes console and open Domains. Add your domain — we'll show you the exact
Arecord to paste into your existing DNS provider. -

We verify, issue TLS, and route traffic
NexusNodes checks your DNS automatically. Once the
Arecord points at us, the domain transitions through verification_pending → certificate_pending → live. Verification is on the platform — you don't have to email anyone.
Domain registration and transfer are add-ons
If you'd prefer to also register a brand-new domain or transfer an existing one into Segbytes, you can do that in the same cart step alongside any NexusNodes plan. That's the only way to get a domain SKU — there are no standalone domain purchases here.
Quick FAQ
- Do I lose ownership of my domain?
- No. Linking a domain doesn't transfer it. You stay the registered owner at whoever you bought it from. We just route traffic through NexusNodes when DNS points at us.
- Can I use a subdomain?
- Yes.
app.example.co.zaworks the same way as the apex. Add a CNAME or A record pointing the subdomain at NexusNodes and we verify it just like a top-level domain. - What if my DNS is locked to my current host?
- You'll need either DNS portability (most providers offer this) or to delegate the apex/subdomain to a DNS host you control (e.g. Cloudflare). NexusNodes doesn't provide DNS — we verify and route based on what's published.
- How long does verification take?
- Usually under five minutes once the DNS propagates. The customer console shows live status as the domain transitions through each state.
